How It Works
- Each member must commit to donating $100 per meeting ($400 per year.)
- The donations will be given strictly to Southside (Prince Edward County or a county that is adjacent to Prince Edward) charities/non-profits. Local chapters of national charities will be considered if 100% of the contribution stays in the community.
- A member may put a suggestion in the drawing at each meeting they attend. The member suggesting each charity/non-profit that is under consideration will be given 5 minutes to make a presentation at the meeting.
- Three charities/non-profits will be under consideration at each meeting and will be chosen by random drawing at the meeting. Only official charities/non-profits (501(c)3) will be considered. If there is an immediate emergency need at the time of the meeting, it can be presented as one of the choices if it has been properly researched by a member.
- By ballot, the members will vote, the majority rules - even if you don't care for the choice - you still must donate.
- If you are unable to attend - give your check to another member to deliver on your behalf - your check will serve as your proxy vote.
- The charity/non-profit selected will have to agree NOT to use the donors names for future solicitations or give the information out to the public. If the charity does not adhere to this condition they will be removed from any future consideration.
- No charity can be chosen more than once per year.
